This patch is designed to install unofficially translated files by our team (texts, conversations and movies). Please note that Thief Gold has never been released in French! New conversations remain in English and new movies are only subtitled!

Compatibility:
Non-Gold version: Not compatible! Please visit the ConstanceJill’s website to download the appropriate patch.
CD version: DarkLoader* has to be first installed and configured! TFix 1.27** is recommended.
Steam version: Compatible but TFix 1.27** should be first applied.
GOG version: Compatible (But uses TFix 1.26 Lite instead).

*All game resources must be placed in a RES subdirectory (by default: ’C:\Program Files\Thief Gold\RES’). If the directory is empty or does not exist, you will need to optimize your files by using DarkLoader. You will find this tool on the official website https://darkloader.net/. For those who already use DarkLoader, please make sure that all main missions files are located in the root game directory before using this patch. You are free to move them after its installation.

**TFix is an all-in-one fix pack for Thief 1 and Thief Gold (apply & play, no other fixes are necessary). It uses NewDark, the latest update of the Dark Engine - this improves compatibility with new pcs significantly, fixes graphic issues, adds support for widescreen resolutions and much more: https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134733.

The patch has been designed for the English version of Thief Gold and has therefore not been tested for other languages.

Translated resources:
About the original content (non-Gold): Almost everything has been translated, only a few oral English commentaries remain. Maps, booklets, missions’ objectives and videos about the new Thief Gold scenario have been modified.

About the Gold content: Titles and missions’ objectives have been entirely translated. Videos were been re-edited in order to transform introductory texts in French, the audio part has, on the other hand, been subtitled.

About the non-translated part: Voices of the Gold content are in English and will remain this way.

Security:
This patch was entirely written in Autolt v3, Autolt is certified by Softpedia as being free of spyware/adware/viruses. However, some cases of false positives can be reported, especially from Windows 10 (Windows Defender), ArcaVir and VBA32.

Finally translated all maps from Gold missions. Working on dithered, indexed texturesand non square pixels was long and difficult.

Release of a new patch after more than 10 years! It finally translates all of the Gold missions. The next patch will try to offer translations of the navigation maps of these Gold levels.

Same as the previous version, but the program has been rewritten partially to deal with the new security restrictions from Windows 10.

Same as the previous version, but the UPX compression has been removed to reduce Windows Defender alerts (Windows 10). If Windows Defender still reports a false positive, please turn off temporarely the Real-time Protection.
